A Note From the Founder

At its core, Banking At Cornell was never just a finance club for me. Its founding was shaped by a tenet I strive to live by every day: I am the master of my own destiny.

That belief is both liberating and unsettling.

Across every success and failure, every high and low, the common thread is you. The silver lining here is that you are probably pretty incredible. Take comfort in your drive, competence, and kindness.

BAC exists to complement that belief.

We don't promise outcomes. We don't sell shortcuts. What we do offer is a standard: a culture grounded in discipline, curiosity, humility, effort, and respect, and a promise we will do everything in our power to help you succeed. BAC members push themselves to the limit because it's who they are. Accountability starts from within.

BAC takes character seriously. You can be brilliant and still be the wrong fit if you don’t treat people well. You can be behind today and still win if you’re coachable, resilient, and willing to improve. We want members who are ambitious without being arrogant, confident without being entitled, and competitive without losing their humanity.

Through our program, you’ll learn the technical foundations the right way: by understanding, not memorizing. You’ll learn how to communicate with clarity and professionalism. You’ll learn how to build authentic and meaningful relationships. And you’ll be surrounded by people who refuse to be passive participants in their own destinies.

BAC is a canvas and you are the paint.

Whether you end up in financial services or somewhere else entirely, the mission is the same: leave here better than you arrived. More confident in your ability to bet on yourself.

Welcome to Banking At Cornell.

Sincerely,
Ben Gleeman
